Returns Policy & Warranty – The Cartridge Warehouse (New Zealand)

Faulty Products – Replacement or Refund

The Cartridge Warehouse will, at our discretion, replace or refund faulty products returned to us within the following timeframes:

  • 90 days for Genuine (OEM) cartridges

  • 12 months for Non-Genuine (Compatible & Re-manufactured) cartridges

Conditions of Return

To be eligible for a replacement or refund:

  • The cartridge must not have been refilled, modified, or tampered with

  • The product must be returned for inspection and/or testing

  • A Return Authorisation (RA) must be requested by email prior to return

  • A copy of the RA approval must accompany the returned item

  • A sample of faulty print output must be included

  • The faulty cartridge must be returned via tracked or registered post

Please ensure the cartridge is packed inside an outer box or padded envelope so the original packaging is not damaged by courier labels or stickers.

Important – Replacement Process

Replacement cartridges are not dispatched until the faulty cartridge or its batch number has been received and verified.

This is standard retail practice and is compliant with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable

  • Customers are responsible for return postage

  • We cover the shipping cost of replacement items sent to you

Incorrect Product Ordered

If an incorrect product has been ordered, The Cartridge Warehouse may, at its discretion, accept a return for store credit only (no refunds), subject to the following:

  • A Return Authorisation (RA) is obtained prior to return

  • The product is returned within 7 days of receipt

  • The product is unopened, unused, and in resalable condition

  • The product is a normally stocked item

  • The item is returned via tracked or registered post

A 10% restocking fee applies.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Unused Cartridges Due to Printer Failure

If a printer fails and unused cartridges remain, we may consider a return provided:

  • The cartridges are no more than 6 months old

  • They are sealed and in fully resalable condition

Restocking fees apply:

  • 10% if a replacement printer is purchased from us

  • 25% if no replacement printer is purchased

Product Warranty

Genuine Printer Consumables

All genuine cartridges are covered by a replacement or refund warranty against defects in materials or workmanship when returned within 90 days of the invoice date (or as stated in the product description).

Returned products may be tested or forwarded to the original manufacturer for assessment.
Processing time may vary depending on manufacturer requirements.

Proof of purchase is required.

Non-Genuine Printer Consumables (Compatible & Re-manufactured)

Non-genuine cartridges are covered by a 12-month warranty against defects in materials or workmanship.

They are also guaranteed against poor print quality for 30 days from receipt, provided a test print is supplied.

Returned items may be tested or referred to the manufacturer for verification.

Other Products

All other products, including printers, hardware, and electronic components, are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty as stated in the product description.

Equipment Damage Warranty

The Cartridge Warehouse will meet reasonable repair costs for damage to printing equipment directly caused by a defective cartridge, provided that:

  • We are notified in writing within 14 days of the damage occurring

  • A signed statement from a qualified service technician is supplied confirming:

    • The cartridge defect

    • The damage caused

    • That the cartridge defect directly caused the damage

  • A repair quotation is supplied

  • Manufacturer confirmation is provided if requested

  • Additional documentation is supplied if required (e.g. service history, machine age)

We may repair the equipment or pay the repair cost at our discretion and may use refurbished parts where appropriate.

This represents the full extent of our liability under this warranty.
